3 Steps for an Amazing White Water Rafting Trip in Gatlinburg
White water rafting in Gatlinburg is a truly incomparable experience. Here at Smoky Mountain Outdoors, we want all of our guests to have the very best rafting trip possible. To help you make the most of your time with us, we’ve put together three easy steps for enjoying your adventure to the fullest.
1. Pick the right people to go with you.
The key to a great rafting trip is good company! Before you schedule your visit to Smoky Mountain Outdoors, decide what kind of adventure you want to have. Are you looking for an exciting date with that special someone? Or do you want to have a group adventure with your friends and family?
Choosing the right people to take on your rafting trip isn’t hard because Smoky Mountain Outdoors can accommodate virtually anyone. Children as young as three years old can go on our Lower Pigeon River trip, and kids eight years and older can ride the rapids on the Upper Pigeon River. Guests don’t even need to know how to swim, because everyone is provided with an official Coast Guard approved lifejacket. The main criteria for picking your rafting party is inviting people who want to have fun!
If you decide to take a rafting trip with 10 or more people, be sure to take advantage of our special group discounts. Whether you want to raft with your church group, co-workers, or extended family, Smoky Mountain Outdoors wants you to get a great deal!
For more information about our group packages, visit our White Water Rafting Groups page. Fill out the form and you will get a downloadable package with everything you need to know in order to plan your trip.
3. Dress for success.
Everything is more enjoyable when you dress for the occasion, and white water rafting is no exception! When you visit Smoky Mountain Outdoors be sure to wear synthetic fabrics such as fleece and polypropylene. Be sure to not wear wool, cotton, or denim, because all of these materials absorb water and make you cold. We provide complimentary Nylon pants and jackets to wear over your clothes to all of our guests.
In addition to wearing appropriate clothing, we also recommend that guests bring a change of clothes and shoes for after the trip. You will also want a nice dry towel, because there is a good chance you will get soaked during your rafting adventure!
Smoky Mountain Outdoors is currently closed for the season, but we are taking reservations for 2015. Our friendly staff is always happy to explain the differences between all of the packages we offer. Whether you’re looking for a calm, scenic ride along the Lower Pigeon River or an exhilarating journey on the Upper Pigeon River, we have exactly what you are looking for.
