December 21, 2023

If you want to plan the perfect outdoor adventure in the Smokies, combine a white water rafting trip with an overnight stay at the Pigeon River Campground! This beautiful campground is located right next door to our rafting outpost and offers a variety of sites to meet your needs, including tent sites, RV sites and camping cabins! Here are 4 perks of staying at Pigeon River Campground after your rafting trip:

1. Walk to Your Campsite

The Pigeon River Campground is located adjacent to our rafting outpost so that you can simply walk back to your campsite after an action-packed time on the river! Whether you want to take an afternoon nap in your camping cabin, go for a refreshing swim in the outdoor pool or take a hot shower in the bath house, you’ll appreciate the convenience of being just steps away! If you work up an appetite while water water rafting, you’ll also be able to fire up the grill in no time for a delicious lunch!

2. Enjoy the Ambiance of the Great Outdoors

You’ll feel totally immersed in nature at the campground as it’s right on the border of the Cherokee National Forest and near Great Smoky Mountains National Park! Of course, you’ll also be right along the Pigeon River where you can watch some of our other guests having a blast on their rafting trip! Don’t forget to have a campfire under the stars and roast s’mores for a perfect ending to the day!

3. Convenient Laundry Room Facilities

You’re guaranteed to get soaked while joining one of our white water rafting excursions, which is all part of the fun! While we normally recommend that guests bring a dry towel, dry clothes and dry shoes for after the trip, this isn’t necessary for the lucky folks camping next door at the Pigeon River Campground! You can simply head back to your campsite to change into some fresh clothes and take advantage of the convenient laundry room facilities to dry off your wet clothing!

4. Fun Activities for All Ages
