White water rafting is a great way to spend a day of your next vacation in the Smoky Mountains! This is the perfect activity for people of all ages, and you don’t even have to be experienced to head out on the water! We have a few different trips for you to choose from, and one of the most popular is our upper Pigeon River rafting trip. You may be wondering what you will enjoy about this particular adventure, so we want to share 5 things you will love about our upper Pigeon River rafting trip with you:

1. It’s the Longest Trip

If you’re looking for something to do all day long, then our upper river trip is the right choice for you! This specific run is the longest of any outpost in the Smokies at 6.5 miles long, which is 1.5 miles longer than any other rafting adventure! As far as how much time you will spend on the river goes, it ranges from 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on the water levels and natural conditions.

2. Everyone Can Enjoy the Ride

It doesn’t matter if you’ve ever been rafting before or not, because everyone is able to enjoy our upper Pigeon River rafting trip! Since you’ll be loaded up with safety gear, be out on the raft with a certified guide, and participate in a short safety talk, you’ll be ready to tackle the rapids on your adventure! The only restrictions on this specific trip are that all rafters must be at least 8 years old or weigh at least 70 pounds.

3. Experienced Guide Leads the Way

As we previously mentioned, there will be an experienced guide with you throughout the entire trip down the river. Each guide goes through extensive training and has many hours on a raft to safely guide our guests along their white water rafting trip on the Pigeon River. You’ll be more relaxed knowing there’s a professional on board giving you directions as you paddle!

4. Possibly Experience Class 3 and 4 Rapids

With our upper Pigeon River rafting trip, you could possibly experience some class 3 and 4 rapids while you’re rafting down the river. Of course, the intensity of the rapids completely depends on water levels and natural conditions around the time of your visit, but it is possible to experience these types of rapids as you make your way through the water. No matter what kind of rapids you encounter on your adventure, everyone on your raft will have a blast!

5. Enjoy Riding in Rain or Shine

Something you will definitely love about all of our trips is it doesn’t matter if there’s rain or shine, because you’ll still get to enjoy being out on the river! With some attractions, you won’t be able to go out if there’s inclement weather or the conditions aren’t quite right. But when you raft with us, you’ll be able to still enjoy yourselves, even if there’s a little rain in the forecast!

When you’re trying to decide what to do on your next trip to the Smokies, there’s no better adventure than rafting with us! Are you ready to make reservations to hold your spot? Book your upper Pigeon River rafting trip now!
