When Are the Smoky Mountain Hiking Tours?
Our Smoky Mountain hiking tours run from early March to the end of November. We take a brief break in the winter to spend quality time with our families during the holidays and to let the weather warm up a bit before hitting the trails for a new season.
Our set hiking schedule is:
- Birding and Native Plants Hike: Tuesdays at 9 a.m.
- Kids in Nature: Saturdays at 1 p.m.
- Waterfall Hike: Mondays & Saturdays at 1 p.m.
- Scenic Sunset Hike: Thursdays at 5 p.m.
Please keep in mind, we do ask you arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled hike time.
One thing you will love about our Smoky Mountain hiking tours is it is the more the merrier! We can accommodate groups anywhere from 2 people and up. All we ask is you let us know how many people will be joining you for your trip so we know how many guides to assign your tour. This will also help us decide which hiking trail will best suit your all’s needs.
If you have any questions about planning your group excursion, give us a call!
Although we do ask you to meet us at our Gatlinburg location before the tour begins, it is important to note you will be required to take your own vehicle from there to the trailhead. Don’t worry, you will be following one of our guides who will be in his or her vehicle, but you and your family or group will be riding separately.
This is nice if you and your loved ones decide you want to continue your adventure after your guided hike is over. This is also good if there are other items on your travel itinerary you want to accomplish without having to make an extra pit stop or two on your way.
As with any hiking trip, you will want to make sure you are prepared when you choose to experience one of our Smoky Mountain hiking tours. This includes making sure you have sturdy shoes, appropriate clothing, bug spray, a backpack, and sunscreen. You may also want to bring either sunglasses or a hat to protect your eyes from the sun.
There are no shops or generals stores inside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, so you will want to make sure you pick any necessary items up before meeting your guide.
Are There Kid-Friendly Hikes?
During this hike, you and your children will encounter a variety of wildlife, plants, insects, and other living creatures found within the national park. All of which is guaranteed to make for a fun and memorable afternoon.
As far as our other Smoky Mountain hiking tours go, whether or not they are appropriate for your child depends on how old he or she is and what their skill levels are. If you have any questions about a specific tour, please give us a call.
All our Smoky Mountain hiking tours generally last about 2 hours. However, this number can fluctuate depending on how many people are in your group and how fast it takes you to finish the trail.
We suggest you block off at least 3 hours to account for rest stops and travel. We also ask you arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time so we can go over any necessary details before we embark on our journey together.
How Much Does It Cost?
All our Smoky Mountain hiking tours are $34.95 per person, plus tax. This price includes the company of one of our skilled guides, as well as a snack and a bottle of water for you to have with you during the hike.
