Gatlinburg River Raft Regatta

May 15, 2012

The annual River Raft Regatta is one of the most highly anticipated Gatlinburg events held each year. This race begins at the River Terrace Bridge across the Little Pigeon River and ends downtown at the Gatlinburg Aquarium. This race allows the true character and imagination of local residents really shine through, as nearly any floatable raft can be entered in this race. The rafts are all unmanned, which means anything can happen on the way to the aquarium. Spectators will be sure to line up early for this event, which kicks off at 12:00 noon on the Fourth of July.

What better way to end the River Raft Regatta than with a trip to Smoky Mountain Outdoors? Here, guests can experience the local rapids while enjoying breathtaking scenery to boot. The experienced guides at this whitewater rafting facility will take tourists on the journey of a lifetime through raging waters that wind vicariously through the Smoky Mountains. One of these trips is sure to keep rafters cool and comfortable since they are bound to get drenched along the way. All of this is possible while experiencing the exhilaration that can only be possible by visiting the remarkable city of Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Smoky Mountain Outdoors provides short and long whitewater rafting trips and can accommodate groups of all sizes. The knowledgeable and well-trained guides will make sure this experience is one of the most memorable Gatlinburg events a traveler experiences while on vacation here.
