June 28, 2016 August 24th, 2021

Summer has officially arrived in the Smoky Mountains and with it, the long-awaited arrival of warm days filled with sunshine that are just waiting to be put to good use. Groups of all kinds come from near and far to spend time in the Smokies each year, and they are always in search of new and exciting ways to create lasting bonds and memories together. We think that one great way to accomplish that is by heading into the great outdoors and going river rafting in Gatlinburg on the Pigeon River! Check out the reasons we believe these 3 specific groups below will love river rafting in Gatlinburg during their vacation in the Smokies this summer:

2. Athletes

With the many new sporting complexes and training facilities that have recently opened in the Smoky Mountain area, it’s no surprise to that plenty of athletes of all ages are coming to the Smokies with their families for tournaments or the like and turning their stay into a vacation. We know that all athletes love a good challenge, and river rafting in Gatlinburg most definitely provides that – especially the upper and upper extreme trips – as well as the combination hiking and paddling trips.
